WORLD CHEMICAL COMPANY, LTD. was formed in 1971 by Yoji Mori to become one of the leading manufacturers of chemical pumps. In January 1971, World Chemical became the first and only company to have a breakthrough in toxic chemical transfers with its patented self-priming and vertical pumps made of vinyl chloride. Since then World Chemical has also designed award winning oil skimmers that are used for cleanup of toxic wastewater. The company thus created two separate departments for their equipment: a chemical pump department and an oil-skimming department. A subsidiary company, WORLD CHEMICAL USA INCORPORATED was established in January 1998 to meet the growing demand in sales all across North and South America. Headquartered in Torrance, California, WORLD CHEMICAL USA INC. hopes to make a contribution to the global community by providing necessary equipment for chemical fluid transfers and oil cleanup. From cleaning up oil spills off the coasts of Japan to recovering oil leaked from the Persian Gulf War, World Chemical's equipment is employed on a worldwide scale. In the case of the latter, Word Chemical was directly contacted by the Japanese government to send twenty-eight units to the Persian Gulf to help in the clean up of the spilled oil As industries continue to grow, World Chemical will meet the challenge of helping to keep the environment clean.

Research and Development

World Chemical incorporates ideas from the field to make products that will meet various needs of industries. The company utilizes their expertise in the technology of plastic processing to create prototypes, then use the various data fed back from the testing equipment create new products. The prototypes of these new products are further improved using the data obtained from the actual applications such as from the field test carried out in the latter half of the development phase.
